My First interaction with GW (Groundwala)
Planned to reach by 4:30pm...
But I was late by an hour, thanks to my short term memory on routes.
The ambiance and atmosphere were
exactly the way I expected it to be. Entered into Ankur’s room while he was on
call, he completed it and greeted me. He was humble and polite despite being
the founder of GW.
I thought he would show authority,
as he is the MD, CEO, Admin and everything to GW. But, to his credit, he was
keeping his questions and attitude professional. Soon I understood, he is a
chilled out person and fun loving too.
The Football was going on.
Players were sincere and engaged, I wish I could have joined them to play but I
mostly concentrated on Ankur’s work. He started introducing me to two other
people.
In the beginning, I was a
bit tensed and excited at the same time, because it was a new place to me. But as
we started conversing I felt comfortable and I shared my views and ideas and he
started supporting them and instantly corrected me with his experiences. We
exchanged many thoughts like sports, event planning, challenges and some
personal stuff as well. It was a nice experience to me. Simultaneously play was
going on... Scoring, Running, Passes, shoots, goals, winning, losing etc. How
can I describe this event in one word? Yes, this is called ‘Professionalism’. And
coming to the fun part, their acting skills are mind blowing.
Photographers were
clicking pictures and recording videos. Their efforts can be showcased after
the event and can get appreciations as well. They were doing a great work despite
they are new to this.
Startup is a small word for GW.
It’s an Evolution. It is a well-established growing company, having a powerful
working team with excellent standards. In sports, all we need is satisfaction,
fun, engaging activities and GW misses none of it. They are providing
everything including short interviews, snacks, refreshments, vouchers etc.
My role there was an
interviewer. It was a fantastic start for me and as well as the players as it
was new to them to get interviewed. I grabbed some fresh ideas from players. One
of the best ones I heard was, a player saying, “In our childhood we had a chance
to meet friends every day, gathering in the evenings and playing but now in IT
(Information Technology) field it is very hard. Searching on internet for
availability of grounds and contacting friends, it is a very difficult task to
do. But GW is making it easy and possible to meet friends again in playing. I
am happy and delighted, may be one day one international player will have born
and serve our country through GW”. That is the best among all the interviews I
have taken.
This interview made my day and
it was an amazing experience being a part of GW. Prize distribution and closing
ceremony went well. Kudos to GW. My love and respect towards GW has increased
even more.
